Making coffee, from start to finish

Aside from skipping and editing bits out, and the fact that some of the clips were taken at different times… here is the process from start to finish of how I make coffee on my Rancilio Silvia and Rocky. Music : In Grid – Tu Es Foutu

    Hi abstract,
What song do you have playing on your video?
I live in Colombia and I’ve had my Silvia for about a year now. I don’t know what took me so long to get it. I was missing out on so much!
AND coffee here is not too hard to find ;)

    Algis

I a restricted pour. Same pour time as a normal shot but half the volume. It’s all the sweetness, intensity and flavour without the crap.

Hi, How did you get the espresso to come out so slowly? I just got a Rancilio Silvia and the espresso comes out very fast and I can’t get a good crema. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe your grind. His came out a little too slow. It’s supposed to come out steadily and be about as thick as a strand of spaghetti.

    you didn’t bleed the coffee….

    that WAS agreat shot brother!

Wrong! You need to steam the milk first of all before the making the coffee, you can grind the #beans but not make the coffee. The reason is so that once the milk has been heated you can let it rest so that the bubbes sink to the bottem and allows the top of the milk to become light and foamy, great for latte’s and adding to espresso, once you have made your coffee then the milk will be prefect!

Nice vid. the espresso shot looks absolutely tasty.

  16. gblan says:

Try using a bit more espresso and tamp harder or better yet adjust the grind finer. Without a top quality grinder you’re sunk though.

I just love the smell of the espresso when the first shot is pours .

Two words my friend, coffee maker. – _ -

  19. szorin13 says:

what is your grinder set at? certain coffee beans must be set at a finer grind, which corresponds to a lower number on the grinder.

    what is bleeding the coffee?…

a little over extracted, would change the grind a bit…

Bleeding the coffee is a stupid idea that people who don’t know much about espresso used to do. Basically it means you discard the first few seconds of the shot (which is actually the best part) because in theory you are bleeding the coffee of it’s badness.

I’m pretty sure this originates from old Italian coffee makers with very dirty machines and not great water who needed to bleed the machine of it’s build up of crap before letting the espresso run into the cup.

Either way, not a great idea

check the cup from the beginning it has no holder or ear or whatever u call it, then at the end when the coffee looks better with a design, the coffee cup is different, don’t get fooled
