There are different ways, methods, and parts of the body involved in detoxification. Some say that to cover everything, a full-body detoxification must be done. This is to ensure that the entire body is cleansed from the wastes and toxins inside it.

However, there are those who contend that it is important to specifically have the liver detoxified. It has been said that the liver must be completely cleansed because this organ is a big factor in the total well-being of our body. If you see that for some reason your body is not healthy, it is usually because of a malfunctioning of an organ, and most of the times it will be your liver.

Now, it is important for us to understand why the body needs a liver detoxification. To do this, let us take a look at what the function of the liver is. Our liver is the one that produces a certain type of bile that help cleanse our body. It cleans the body of the wastes and toxins inside it. After the bile has worked on the toxins, they will now be ready to exit the body. However, there are instances that these toxins do not leave the body ad cause a toxin build-up. Now, it is this toxin build-up that we are trying to battle with detoxification. We want anything and everything that is not good for our body be removed from it.

There are two essential ingredients that the liver needs to perform well. These two are water and glucose. It is these two ingredients that help the liver get rid of all the wastes in the body. Now in order for the liver to be detoxified, the first thing we must do is to take in lots of water. Next thing to do is to take in lots of high-carbohydrates and starchy foods.

Now, it is also important for us to take in lots of vitamins and minerals. This is also possible by an intake of lots of herbs and spices like parsley, cinnamon, cayenne pepper and ginger root. There are also several types of teas and other drinks that are meant specially for detoxification. You can find this in almost any health store.

The total span of time for you to do a liver detoxification is about two or three days. You should use these 2 or 3 days to intake all these herbs and spices plus the high carbohydrates and starchy foods.
