Take Your Best Friend Along When You Head Out For That Backpacking Trip-Your Dog!
Most people might consider taking their best friends along with them on their backpacking trip, however, others are choosing to take their true best friend, their dog! This is a really great idea if you are just wanting to get away by yourself, a good dog by your side can give you just as much enjoyment or more, than having a few of your best friends around during your time away. This can be a very peaceful time in your life, atleast that is what you are hoping for, bringing a well trained, good dog friend along can give you so much comfort and enjoyment throughout your backpacking trip. However, if your dog is not well behaved, you could be putting yourself and your dog at a high risk for a serious accident possibly. If your dog runs away from you and does not listen to you, you might want to stick with the plan of just bringing along a few of your good friends instead. Otherwise, you could end up having a very unhappy, not so peaceful backpacking experience.
Another tip, please make sure that if you do decide to take your dog with you when you leave out for a backpacking trip, make sure that he is in real good physical shape and prepared for a trip such as this. It will not be an easy trip if he is out of shape and not used to being so very active. It is supposed to be a fun experience, filled with joy, for you and your dog, so do take all precautions ahead of time and really give it some thought before choosing to bring him along with you. It is also a really good idea to make sure that you keep a close eye on the weather channel before you ever head out the door, you want to be more than prepared for anything unexpected. Tell your mom, dad, brother, sister or a friend, tell somebody where you and your dog are going and when you plan on returning back home so that, just in case something terrible happened and you both do not return back home. They will have a heads up and atleast know where to go to begin looking for you. Nobody likes to think of anything bad happening but it is definitely better to prepare for it because none of us know when something could very well go wrong.
Going backpacking can bring you so much peace and happiness, if you have never done it, you should consider giving it a try someday soon. You are so missing out on a great deal of beauty and some very peaceful down time. It is so nice to be able to get out and enjoy the weather, with your dog, away from all the stresses of home or work. If you allow yourself enough time to properly plan for your trip, all should go well and you should have the opportunity to have an unforgettable experience, with your pooch!
